Harold Thimbleby

Harold Thimbleby is Director of UCLIC, the University College London Interaction Centre: an innovative centre of both research and graduate study within the Departments of Psychology and Computer Science.  He is also Professor of Geometry at Gresham College in London, where he gives an annual programme of free public lectures.

A world-recognised researcher, specifically in the fields of human-computer interaction and mobile ubiquitous computing, Harold was awarded the British Computer Society Wilkes Medal in 1987, the Toshiba Year of Invention Award.

In 1990 and is a Royal Society Wolfson Merit Award Holder.  He published  User Interface Design and an edited collection (with Michael Harrison)    Formal Methods in Human-Computer Interaction.

Harold has given 25 invited keynotes and published over 350 refereed and invited publications, covering computer science, HCI and personal technologies.  Abstracts and more details of his work are available at www.uclic.ucl.ac.uk/usr/harold/
