Vacancy 310155 - Lecturer-Senior Lecturer

New Zealand's best-ranked computer science department is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to join the department. Academics in their early or mid-career, who are strong researchers and teachers, are encouraged to apply for this position.

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in computer science or a related discipline. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate teaching programme, teach advanced and graduate level courses in your area of specialisation, be involved in research and supervision, and to contribute as appropriate to administration within the Department.

The Department has internationally recognised research programmes in machine learning, human-computer interaction, formal methods in software engineering, computer networks, computer assisted language learning, digital libraries, information systems, music information retrieval and parallel programming.

Current salary range for Lecturers is NZ$64,594 to $78,864 per year and for Senior Lecturers is NZ$80,851 to $108,445 per year. The level of appointment will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.

Vacancy 310092 - Lecturer-Senior Lecturer (Based in Tauranga)

New Zealand's best-ranked computer science department is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to join the department. Academics in their early or mid-career, who are strong researchers and teachers, are encouraged to apply for this position.

As the successful candidate, you will contribute to the undergraduate teaching programme in Applied Computing at our Tauranga Campus. You will focus on teaching web applications development, complementing other courses on databases, information systems and human-computer interaction. You will also be expected to teach advanced courses in your area of specialisation, maintain an active research programme, conduct quality research, contribute to knowledge development through scholarship and publication, and contribute as appropriate to administration within the department. Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in computer science or a related discipline.

We have internationally recognised research programmes in machine learning, human-computer interaction, formal methods in software engineering, computer networks, computer assisted language learning, digital libraries, information systems, music information retrieval and parallel programming. Our research activities are based in Hamilton and travel between the Tauranga and Hamilton campuses will be required.
