This paper focuses on basic image processing concepts, and then examines some recent research topics in the area of image recognition and analysis.

Learning Outcomes
Students who pass this paper will:

  • Students will demonstrate understanding of the basic concepts and algorithms in image processing.
  • Students will be familiar with some of the latest research ideas and techniques in this area.

The learning outcomes are supported by the two programming projects and the presentation on a research topic.

Pre Requisite Papers
Three 300 level Computer Science papers.
