Research Interests
PhD Topic: "Large-scale micro-management of domestic electricity consumption."

Energy use is fast becoming a worldwide concern, with rising demand, record fuel costs and heightened environmental concerns. There is an increasing interest in renewable electricity generation; however, relying too heavily on intermittent generation technologies like wind, solar and tidal power may compromise security of supply.

My research is focussed on designing and analysing demand-side measures that effectively deal with supply-side variation. By monitoring and controlling appliances at a household level, including future loads like electric vehicles, it is possible to better utilise intermittent generation while maintaining security of supply.
