Research Interests
PhD Topic: "Architectures for the parallel processing of very large scale digital libraries."

Very Large Digital Library (VLDL) collections containing millions of documents, in a range of formats including text, images, video, and audio, are increasingly commonplace. However, applying traditional digital libraries approaches to forming collections of this size has been shown to take several weeks or more. Through this investigation I will study how applying different parallel processing and hardware configurations can be used to reduce the time taken, and through this put forward a set of best practices for creating and managing content of this scale.
