We
have created a three-dimensional world for you to explore. As our
knowledge of the past is incomplete, we have had to go beyond accepted
facts and create what we believe to be credible interpretations.
We do this for a reason: to work solely within archaeological certainty
may present an unbalanced view of what life was like 1600 years
ago. What persists tends to be permanent materials and is often
the property of those who are wealthy. There is a truthfulness in
attempting to provide a holistic view of the social life of the
times, but in doing so we can claim no certainty for many of the
details.
