Explanation:
Switches the light filter on (or off). If it is 'on' then the item will have a tick against it in the menu.
Lights can also be switched on or off from the Edit lights dialog box.
The light filter is a simple simulation of a single light. It can be adjusted for shape, colour, angle and concentration. It can also be moved around the screen.
Switching the light filter 'on' uses a lot of memory. When moving objects, the light filter will be temporarily switched off to achieve smoother movement (and also so that you can see what you are doing!)
Tip: leave the light filter switched 'off' whenever you don't really need it.
