Interesting Organisations on the Web
These are mostly contacts that I've filed away in case I want
to refer to them again. Sort of a cleaned-up bookmarks list.
- AUS Home Page
(AUS = Association of University Staff) -- my union.
- The Vegetarian Pages is
intended to be an independent, definitive
Internet guide for vegetarians, vegans and others.
(I'm an omnivore, but there are some good recipes here).
- La Leche League
International -- breastfeeding information. (Well, I'm not
female either, but know people who are :-))
- An on-line magazine for Fathers. Rather American though.
- Dollar Stretcher ideas.
- The Linux
Documentation Project -- some of it is available from
Auckland.
- LockerGnome is a free
electronic magazine of Windows 95/NT news.
- TANEWS-L, is a free electronic newsletter from "Transitions
Abroad, the Guide to Learning, Living and Working Overseas."
It's bimonthly, and covers study-abroad programs, internships,
volunteer placements, short-term jobs, and other independent
or organized travel-learning opportunities. Send a
"sub tanews-l" message to <listserv@peach.ease.lsoft.com>
or sign up
here.
Archives are also available.

- iCopyright.com
provides copyright permissions instantly. Re-use or
reprint any material from any registered publisher. You can obtain
proper clearance, pay any fees, and receive the content in a desired
format. [From Ken Laws' Computists Weekly 9.39]
- The Stalker's Home Page
contains lots of interesting information about "Stalking -- Privacy --
Spying -- Snooping!" on the web.
- There are lots of Bible search sites on the web, like the
Bible Gateway
(NIV, NASB, RSV, KJV, Darby, or YLT versions), the
Bible
Browser (RSV and KJ versions),
and the Unbound Bible (10
english versions including NASB, plus many non-english versions).
- BibleTime is an open-source
bible study program for KDE/Linux, based on the CrossWire toolkit.
- Theophilos is a free PC Bible
Study Program for Windows 95/98/NT/2000, complete with the King James
(Authorized) version of the English Bible, Matthew Henry's Commentary
and Easton's Bible Dictionary. Hundreds of
free
add-on modules are available, and there is a low-cost library CD
that contains more bible versions and other resources.
