Assistant Professor
During this period I was
doing research for an Esprit Long-Term
project, called
Magic
Lounge. The aim of the Magic Lounge
project was to design and implement a
virtual meeting environment which would provide
the necessary tools for communication and
interaction needs of geographically
separated individuals using
heterogeneous devices such as PCs, PDAs,
Palmtops, and mobile telephones. Within
this project, I was working on the
design, implementation, and user
evaluation of the Magic Lounge software.
In particular, I was involved in the
development of a shared collaboration and
communication tool called MagicBoard.
In terms of teaching, I developed and
delivered a course in HCI at the
postgraduate level. The course introduced
the main components of HCI, covering
topics such as the human and technological
aspects, interaction design, and user
evaluation.

available Internet-based tools which could
provide for some of the CSCW requirements
of a software development environment. I
