Internet Tutorial
Welcome
This tutorial is an introduction to the types of information stored on the Internet
and some of the ways to get access to that information. It covers the material
required for session 2 of the "Exploring the Internet" module for
COMP123 The Computing Experience.
Objectives
This tutorial is intended to provide you with the experiences necessary to prepare
you for exploring or "surfing" the internet. By the end of this tutorial you should
be able to identify the different parts of a URL, navigate through web links, view
homepages, display graphics, play sounds and view movies through a web browser
such as Microsoft Internet Explorer.

How this Tutorial Works
This tutorial is mostly self-contained. It contains explanations and exercises
that enable you to start "surfing the web".
It is intended to be used in conjunction with the
Exploring the Internet module of The Computing Experience. It provides the
internet resources required for completing Session 2 of the module
and explanations that compliment the notes provided
in the module.
This tutorial is specific to Microsoft Internet Explorer.
If you are using Netscape Navigator, then you should use
this version of the tutorial.
If you are using Mozilla, then you should use
this version of the tutorial.
