Investigating the Printers

If Tim thinks that there is something fishy down at the printers, it must be important to follow it up. After all, Tim is probably just as anxious as you are to catch the culprit.

Walking down to the printers, you wonder how you can approach this questioning. On reaching the printers' office though, you realise you needn't have worried. The printers are all more than pleased to talk about Tim and the Computer Science tutors, making your line of questioning that much easier to pursue. You soon realise, however, that the reason they are so happy to talk about him is that they really love the huge amounts of printing that the tutors send down to them.

While them loving Tim is all well and good for them, it poses a problem for you. Although the printers have access to the 123 manuals that the note was written on, there is no motive; you seem to have reached a dead end.

You have the option of going back to trace one of the other leads. As you toss up which lead to follow, you realise that there is one lead that is very important, but for some reason you simply had not thought about it till now. Quite apart from tracing the paper that the note was written on, you need to find out who had access to 123 manuals to get the paper, and who could freely walk the corridors outside the tutors' offices at the time that the note had been stuck on Tim's door.

If you choose to trace another of the original leads, you had better hurry as time is running out. Do you follow up the Knife or the Rat.

Otherwise, look into who was around at the time the note was found.
