Message from the Chairperson
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Waikato has a strong international reputation for both its teaching and research. We offer a comprehensive range of courses and are involved in a wide range of exciting and innovative research that transcend the boundary between theory and practice.
We enjoy a high international academic profile for our work in such areas as machine learning, broadband communication, cyber security, digital libraries, formal methods, human-computer interaction, software engineering and the Internet of Things (IoT).
We have an attractive campus in a city fringe setting close to restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Nearby are surf beaches, fishing, hiking and ski resorts; and just 90 minutes away is Auckland, New Zealand’s major population centre.
Computer use in industry, business, education and government is widespread, and the need for qualified professionals with a computing background continues to grow. Prepare yourself for a successful career in the computer science industry and study with us.
